Introduction/ Definition

Hello, my name is Tyler Madden and I am a fourth year Civil Engineering Student doing the BS/MS in Structures.  I am originally from Lansdowne, PA and now live in Drexel Hill, PA, both just about 15 minutes from the city in Delco.

I did my first Co-op at GeoStructures in King of Prussia where I did construction inspection work in the field. My second Co-op was at Elton & Thompson P.C. where I did some design and mostly AutoCad work for the whole office. I just accepted an offer to work at Burns Engineering downtown in the Facilities and Infrastructure Department.

I do not know much about Intelligent Buildings, however I would think an intelligent building is a structure that can actively monitor it's own health and adapt to changes in the surrounding environment. It would also incorporate some sort of BIM like Revit, so that future modifications can be made with ease.
