Introduction and Intelligent Building Definition-Yicheng Li

My name is Li, Yicheng and I am from China. I studied Architecture and Energy Application Engineering at Guangdong University of Technology and successfully obtained a Bachelor's degree in engineering. Now study AE, MS degree, at Drexel University.

During my undergraduate studies, I studied the basics of Building Automation and under the guidance of the instructor, I completed a course design of Building Equipment Automatic about a government office . The contents include the control schematic diagram and monitoring system diagram of the air conditioning, ventilation, fire prevention and other systems, as well as the power plan of each layer. This is my first time to have a preliminary understanding of intelligent buildings.

The reason I chose this course is that it proves to be very practical and touches the basic needs of accommodation for people’s life. As a result, I was committed to study and cherishing the hope to become a technical professional in design, installation, price assessment, and operation by consistently incorporating knowledge in the design of HVAC and IB system and the utilization of energy from surroundings into a comprehensive consideration for a building with the attempt to improve human settlement conditions and protect our environment.

From my perspective, intelligent building is a building information platform built by modern computer, information communication and system integration technology. It will interconnect and manage all the equipment and systems in the building through the network to provide a comfortable, convenient and safe. Energy efficient and environmentally friendly indoor environment. For a simple example, when the indoor carbon dioxide or other concentration exceeds a certain value, the corresponding monitoring equipment will detect it, and then the fan and the new fan will automatically run, so that the indoor air will automatically stop after it meets the qualified standard. This can greatly improve people's lives.
